Radiologist

Dr Ahmed Al-Nowfal is a Consultant Radiologist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the United Kingdom's leading cancer centres. He specialises in complex diagnostic imaging, with particular expertise in genitourinary, vascular and oncological imaging, and works with patients who need advanced diagnostics and minimally invasive interventional procedures.
He completed his radiology training across the United Kingdom before undertaking an advanced fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He further developed his expertise in oncological imaging through additional cross-sectional imaging training at Mount Vernon Hospital, gaining extensive experience in complex cancer diagnostics.
Dr Al-Nowfal reports specialist imaging studies for the regional network and plays an active role in multidisciplinary cancer and vascular teams, contributing to the diagnosis and management of complex conditions. Alongside his diagnostic practice, he leads specialist minimally invasive services including tumour ablation, prostate artery embolisation, fibroid embolisation and pulmonary thrombectomy.
Dr Al-Nowfal is actively involved in clinical research and education. He has authored book chapters, published peer-reviewed research, and presented his work at national and international meetings. His research has contributed to national programmes supported by NHS England. He is also involved in training radiology doctors and supervising trainees within the NHS.
